Well, X10 happened yesterday. Whether it lived up to the hype or not depends on how hyped you actually were for the event.
It mostly served as a reminder that 2010 has way too many games you’re going to want to buy, but at the very least, it gave us some dates to look forward to.
Some new stuff was announced, however.
Dead Rising: Case Zero is an XBLA exclusive that serves as a prologue to Dead Rising 2 – basically it bridges the two stories together.
Perfect Dark has been given a March launch and hits the service for 800 frickin’ points meaning everyone of you bastards better pick it up. It comes packed with three GoldenEye maps and GoldenEye weapon sets, too, so fuck yeah.
The announced Final Fantasy XIII DLC is nothing special, just some Avatar junk.
Aside from that, we got a bunch of dates, some new screenshots, and an awesome Alan Wake trailer.
Major Nelson listed off the top 10 things that came from X10, hit the jump to get the full spill. READ MORE

Getting excited about the X10 unveiling of Fable III? It’s happening this Thursday, so it’s understandable if you’re a fan of the series. Just be prepared, this is a Peter Molyneux title and many words will be spoken about the game; things that will happen in the game, and things that stand no chance of making it into the final product.
Unlike with most of his releases, he’s nega-hyping the X10 glimpse of Fable III.
“We’re making a big announcement about Fable III in the next couple of weeks [at X10]…I hope I haven’t spoiled some horrible PR surprise. Gulp. We’ll be making some announcements about Fable III and there’s some, wow, there’s some very, very big things happening in Fable,” Molyneux said to Gamereactor.”Bigger than you think, and it’s going to really upset people. I’m really scared when I go out and tell people what it is, they’re going to get super pissed off. They really are. But it’s the right thing to do, man. I’m sure it’s the right thing.”
So yeah, be prepared to get “super pissed.” Better yet, have no expectations at all.
This could very well be a complete non-factor that Molyneux is blowing out of proportion, or maybe Fable III has turned into a dating sim.
Thursday should be interesting.

X10 kicks off soon and I’m hoping for some good stuff to come of it. We already know Fable III is going to make its big debut, but it’s not just going to be a Fable event.
We want to see new games, new things, and new stuff, too. I’m not sure how many new “things” we’ll see, but Microsoft has confirmed new game announcements and other “stuff.”
“I’m gonna be in San Francisco for a press event that we’re doing called X10, which we will be announcing all sorts of cool games and stuff, other stuff that I can’t really talk about yet,” Major Nelson said.
Here’s to hoping Microsoft announces some more in-house projects. That sounds funny in a year with Microsoft publishing Halo: Reach, Alan Wake, Fable III and probably some other big title I’m forgetting. It’s still a small list when compared to their competitors, but Microsoft is all about third party support, I suppose.
