Nintendo to publish Koei’s Dynas … I mean Samurai Warriors 3

Hmm, maybe Nintendo really is trying to work with third party developers these days. I guess it’s a necessity given that most third parties look to the HD twins with their titles.

Nintendo is putting up a huge marketing push for Monster Hunter Tri and they’ve taken over North American publishing duties from Square Enix for Dragon Quest IX.

It looks like Tecmo Koei’s Samurai Warriors 3 will get the same treatment as Nintendo announced that they’ll be publishing the title here in the west.

It looks as if it falls right in line with most of Koei’s games that follow the Dynasty Warriors structure. Like Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors seems to have a dedicated following of gamers who enjoy hitting 8,000 enemies on screen.

A classic Famicom title The Mysterious Murasame Castle will be included on the disc despite never being released here, and us lucky western folk get added online co-op support.

I guess I’ll wait for reviews on this one, but I’ve got a feeling it’ll boil down to whether or not you like Dynasty Warriors.
